That song, ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’ is literally a fantasy here in Australia, not unless a weird weather pattern strikes, a recent weather front brought plunging temperatures with snow and hail across parts of this amazing continent, when barbies should have been firing the shrimps. It’s a rare occurrence but it does happen. December through to February are the summer months here, it’s also the season of bushfires, heatwaves and tropical storms. Last week alone, the western part of Sydney suffered under blazing 40 degrees Celsius + and the CBD and City suburbs were in the high thirties, now that was hot, cool Southerly winds, where for art though?

Last week, Stockland – Wetherill Park and celebrity TV chef  and cookbook author, Miguel Maestre presenter of The Living Room, shared an unexpected and joy-filled Christmas lunch with 30 shoppers to celebrate a new campaign encouraging us Aussies to connect with others and share the joy this festive season. Miguel said, “community spirit and spending time with others is the most important part of Christmas”.

Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany the ultimate Beer Festival!

It’s already November but our Oktoberfest memories seem to linger forever. Oktoberfest Weisn was a dream come true for myself and Steve, our love of the hoppy drink has taken us this year exploring several countries like Japan, Philippines, Belgium, Ireland, United Kingdom and culminating in the mighty Octoberfest in Munich, Germany, in the quest of the best beers. Our journey wasn’t that easy, we had a few hit and misses along the way but it was all worth it.

BORACAY island, now and then

Where did the time go, Steve and I first visited the island of Boracay in the Philippines in the late nineties. Located in the Western Visayas, this tiny island famous for its pristine white beaches and parties, has become the most visited destination in the Philippines and was named as the best island gateway in the world in 2012 based on a survey of readers by Travel+Leisure and has continued to gain in popularity.
