Thanks to Dr. Stanley Quek, founder and owner of the much loved Kensington Street Mekong in Chippendale for recently launching it’s North Shore branch Mekong – Bistro Mekong Castlecrag. Eager diners wanting to try the Chippendale branch don’t need to cross the bridge anymore, it’s all here, right in the heart of Castlecrag.

A day trip to Bruges or Brugge in Dutch is really not enough to cover what this Unesco World Heritage City offers, shame that I had only one day free when I visited this enchanting Capital city of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. There’s so much to do and see this part of Belgium and I guarantee you, this charming medieval city will capture your heart.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’ve had a fantastic time during the Christmas holiday break and are looking forward to an exciting New Year ahead. We are still trying to catch up from our vacay last year, hoping that our travel blog will inspire your next travel destination. This post, we look at what it’s like flying with Etihad Airline – Business Class.
That song, ‘I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas’ is literally a fantasy here in Australia, not unless a weird weather pattern strikes, a recent weather front brought plunging temperatures with snow and hail across parts of this amazing continent, when barbies should have been firing the shrimps. It’s a rare occurrence but it does happen. December through to February are the summer months here, it’s also the season of bushfires, heatwaves and tropical storms. Last week alone, the western part of Sydney suffered under blazing 40 degrees Celsius + and the CBD and City suburbs were in the high thirties, now that was hot, cool Southerly winds, where for art though?
Traveling has changed a lot these days, it’s a whole lot easier than it used to be. With all the gadgets, tablets and smartphones, every piece of information we need is at our finger tips where ever we go. Finding our hotel, direction for a nearest pizza place, language interpreter, and hotel reviews are just a click away.
If the offers are too good, grab them before they’re gone forever, that’s my advice for promo fares, accommodation and tour packages. Just make sure that you read the terms and conditions, most promo fares are non refundable and payment is upfront. If your travel dates coincided with the promo dates then you’ve landed yourself a good deal.
Last week, Stockland – Wetherill Park and celebrity TV chef and cookbook author, Miguel Maestre presenter of The Living Room, shared an unexpected and joy-filled Christmas lunch with 30 shoppers to celebrate a new campaign encouraging us Aussies to connect with others and share the joy this festive season. Miguel said, “community spirit and spending time with others is the most important part of Christmas”.
Visiting foodie friends overseas is such a joy and privilege, not only for a good catch up but sharing sumptuous bites and drinks is such a memory maker. Every time we visit our friends Charlie and Mike in Cirencester UK, they always introduce us to the latest food hot spots in their area.
It’s already November but our Oktoberfest memories seem to linger forever. Oktoberfest Weisn was a dream come true for myself and Steve, our love of the hoppy drink has taken us this year exploring several countries like Japan, Philippines, Belgium, Ireland, United Kingdom and culminating in the mighty Octoberfest in Munich, Germany, in the quest of the best beers. Our journey wasn’t that easy, we had a few hit and misses along the way but it was all worth it.
Boasting a relaxed setting, an open space with indoor and outdoor dining areas, and sustainable offerings, Bellbird Dining + Bar located at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is so much more than just a dining destination. It is that time of the year again when Halloween fanatics dress up for the scariest costumes that you could imagine. Zombies, witches, black spiders, ghosts and blood thirsty vampires will roam our streets again on October 31.
Where did the time go, Steve and I first visited the island of Boracay in the Philippines in the late nineties. Located in the Western Visayas, this tiny island famous for its pristine white beaches and parties, has become the most visited destination in the Philippines and was named as the best island gateway in the world in 2012 based on a survey of readers by Travel+Leisure and has continued to gain in popularity.
