TAGAY!” (Cheers) – stand on a street corner in the Philippines during a town fiesta, celebration or special occasion and you will likely hear people pouring out a glass or two and shouting this out as they toast their glasses. Part of Filipino culture, the tradition of tagayan (circle of drinking peers), today, is something that shows camaraderie and friendship among friends who are having a good time.

In the Tagay spirit, The FFMA Inc. (“Filipino Food Movement Australia Inc.”) is proud to present TAGAY-TAGAY. A Filipino wine and tapas pop-up dining series paired with handpicked wines from 7000 Islands Wine Co. that showcases the distinctiveness of Filipino food when matched with Australian wine. Led by Siegfrid Gueco Bacani, owner of 7000 Islands Wine Co – the first event in this series will be held at the ever popular Pamana Filipino Restaurant located Chatswood, NSW.

A unique and interactive experience that will have you develop a new found knowledge of a beautiful selection of Australian wines that perfectly balance with Filipino cuisine. Bacani will be host for the evening and will talk through the wines specifically picked for this occasion uncovering the thought process that goes into each pairing.

Through this Tagay-Tagay event, we are acknowledging our Filipino culinary heritage, supporting and elevating the journey of the Filipino community highlighting our cuisine for everyone to enjoy!
