The Entrance NSW

One of our favourite weekend destinations is The Entrance on the Central Coast of NSW. It’s an easy drive from Sydney, around an hour and 30 minutes. It’s a picturesque sea side town with lots of wonderful activities to offer both on land and on the water.

The Entrance Road is the main strip, where you’ll find lots of shops, restaurants, banks, pubs, ice cream parlours and grocery stores to name a few, all in handy location. Accommodation ranges from Budget to Babylonian if you want to enjoy one of those exclusive and stunning waterfront views!

Memorial Park is a well maintained and welcoming park for everyone. It’s a nice area to sit, relax and watch the world go by. Grab a bite from one of the shops or restaurants and have a picnic in the park. The park has good and accessible amenities and these are currently undergoing further improvements. There’s entertainment for the young and young at heart with a Children’s playground, cute Ferris Wheel and The Historic Carousel, you can also hire a bike for a cycle around from the bike station located close by.

Take a stroll along the walking path with its magnificent water views, some interesting photo spots include Beach Surf Life Saving Tower, The Entrance ocean bath and the beach. On the opposite side, you’ll find the the Boat Shed, Skate Park and Picnic Point. And if you are game, you can walk cross the Entrance Bridge which offers a great view and connects The Entrance and The Entrance North across the wide Tuggerah Lake.

Life is a beach at The Entrance. North Entrance Beach is where the river meets the beach. Just make sure to swim in between the flags as there are strong current and waves.

Fishing is a popular activity here. If you have a bit of patience and a touch of luck, you could end up with the catch of the day.

For our accommodation, we stayed at Oaks – The Entrance Waterfront Suites. So next time, when you plan for a short break or a longer holiday, consider The Entrance on the Central Coast.
