Universal Burger and CO, a must-try burger restaurant

If you venture out in the West of Sydney for a movie, feed and retail therapy, look no further than the Auburn Redyard Entertainment Centre complex located in Auburn. It’s a modern outdoor complex, home to Reading Cinemas, dining venues and shopping outlets. It’s a perfect destination for the whole family and a place to hang out with friends. Big bonus here is the huge carpark accessible directly under the building.

Universal Burger CO

Recently, we had the opportunity to visit Universal Burger CO, one of the fast food outlets at Auburn Redyard. Boasting a great position, this burger joint offers an indoor and al-fresco style dining. For a relaxing dining experience, the mezzanine floor provides a cool ambiance. Some of the art works traces the journey of Universal Burger CO travels around the world in search of ingredients and flavours which are now incorporated into their delicious offerings. The abundance of natural light throughout makes this a pleasant space to be in.

Universal Burger CO

There is something for just about everyone to enjoy on their extensive and certified Halal menu. From snack boxes, chicken wings, wraps, salad bowls, breakfast menu, kids menu, delicious burgers (signature, classic and premium), hotdogs, thirst-quenching drinks, coffee and smoothies. Some of the dishes were designed as a perfect snack before or after a movie or between shopping. It was a perfect afternoon when we visited and Chef Pierre had prepared a sample of their dishes for us to try.

Madrid Burger
Kingston Burger

The BURGERS: Can be ordered individually or make it a combo with a regular drink and chips. Plus extra toppings.
We couldn’t fault their burgers! Universal beef burgers are 100% grass fed and chicken burgers are made with free range chicken and eggs. Both Madrid – $11 and Kingston -$14 burgers tick all the boxes, nicely charred, melted cheese, right amount of fillings, juicy in every bite and the mouthwatering secret sauces. Buns were soft and fluffy with crisped brown edges, drool-worthy and finger drippin’ good!

Frankfurt Hot Dog
Currywurst Hotdog

The HOT DOGS: Frankfurt – $13 / Currywurst – $12
Eating a hot dog brings back childhood memories, it’s so much fun. Universal’s hot dogs deliver that in every bite. Both the Frankfurt and Currywurst were super juicy served on slightly grilled soft brioche buns. The best bit, loaded with bold toppings of mayo, gherkin relish, cheese, fried shallots and curried ketchup, MMMMMM.

Buffalo Wings
Korean Hot Wings

The WINGS: Box of 6 – $8 / Box of 12 – $14.
Two version of wings were served and I must admit when they arrived on our table, my jaw dropped, just look at the glaze. Classic Buffalo wings and Korean hot wings were on point. So crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Served with minty side sauce for the Buffalo and daikon for the Korean. It’s lip-smacking goodness with a hit on the palate. Definitely a must order!

Loaded Fries – The Bronx
Fruit Crush

LOADED FRIES (The Bronx – $13) and DRINKS (Fruit Crush $7)
For serious chips lovers, you can’t go wrong with The Bronx – a duo of crispy golden chips and fried chicken topped with rich burger sauce, cheesy gravy, bbq sauce and fried shallots, it’s deliciously gooey! I promise you you’ll be scraping the gravy off the tray.
Forget your crush but fall in love with their fruit crush. Both Mixed Berry and Banana Mango were refreshing, not too sweet, a perfect accompaniment with your meal or just a great thirst buster.

The Team

Overall, we had a fab time and up until now, we are still raving about how good their offerings are particularly the burgers. This place is definitely a must include on your burger tasting ventures, a perfect pit stop for fuel before or after a movie or shopping. We can’t thank Chef Pierre enough for looking after us very well indeed.
