Vivid Sydney 2019

Each year, Sydney turns into a dazzling extravaganza of lights. The spectacular displays on the famous Landmarks, Sydney’s skyline and throughout parks are turning the Vivid Sydney into one of the best known light, music and ideas festivals in the Southern Hemisphere.

Returning for its 11th year, the festival brings together local and international light artists, music makers alongside Vivid Ideas with over 200 talks, workshops, forums and gigs with venues all around Sydney. The Vivid ideas program is dedicated to exchanging ideas and fresh thinking by getting the experts to tackle the big issues such as mental health and wellbeing, technology, creativity, design and innovation. Details of the program can be accessed by clicking this link https://www.vividsydney.com/ideas.

This year’s Vivid Sydney interactive glowing locations are at the following venues: Barangaroo, Chatswood (5:30 pm – 10:30 pm), Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Luna Park, Taronga Zoo (5:30 pm – 9:30 pm with 8:30 pm last entry), The Rocks and The Royal Botanical Gardens.

Some restaurants and bars in Sydney also curated special menus and drinks to match the Vivid Sydney offering colourful creations. One of the venues that I visited was the Cruise Bar in Circular Quay, with its perfect location this is the place to enjoy all the sights of magical light installations across Sydney Harbour.

Darling Harbour Firework shows are on every Friday and Saturday at 7:40pm and 9:00pm. The fireworks are incorporated into Robot SPACEland, a 16m tall mechatronic unit called Ecobot whose primary purpose is to save Earth from extinction and advance a sustainable existence.
Vivid Sydney 2019 is on until 15 June from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm.
