According to the national government agency, Cancer Australia, it is estimated that this year, 17, 500+ will be diagnosed with breast cancer and people living with breast cancer at the end of 2012 (diagnosed in the 5 years period 2008 to 2012 is 65, 900+. Breast cancer is the most fourth most common cause of death from cancer among females in 2017. (source Cancer Australia). 

As part of the Breast Cancer Awareness month, the ‘Dine Pink’ is back this October bigger than ever, a campaign by BCNA – Breast Cancer Network Australia. Eat for a good cause at participating host venues across Australia and your donation will go to support Australians living with breast cancer. You can win $1,000 voucher to your favourite dine pink restaurant by sending an SMS PINK to 0437 371 371 and donate $5 (or more) to BCNA to go into the draw. You can also purchase a copy of the entertainment book, 20% of your subscription will be donated to BCNA. Make sure to share your experience on your social media platforms with hashtag #DinePink and tag @bcnapinklady.

Last Saturday, the FCBA community (Food Critic Bloggers Australia) and Sydney Food Blogger – Jay Santiago (@eatventures_ ) teamed up with BCNA, hosted a charity event “Get Your Pink On” at The Commons Local Eating House in Darlinghurst. The event was highly attended by its members, dressed up in pink and all proceeds raised will go to BCNA. In support to this event, sponsors have created delicious pink coloured food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.
