Admittedly, we have been here a few times now and we keep on coming back. I guess it’s because of the fab food? or the breathtaking views? oh well I think both!

The Watershed Kitchen is a modern Australian restaurant tucked away along Henley Marine Drive in Drummoyne, just off the Iron Cove Bay Bridge and alongside the Parramatta River. The waterfront views here are spectacular, the windows are wide and can be adjusted for uninterrupted views and fresh-air dining.

We started with the Mixed Tasting Plate for 2 – $34, a mix of the entrees on offer served with toasted bread. The plate consisted of the soup of the day which comes in a small shooter glass, enough to awaken your palate. The Italian Charcuterie includes a selection of prosciutto di parma, salami and green olives along with salt and pepper crusted squid which was fresh, tender with a hint of garlic, coupled with smoked salmon, BBQ octopus, scallops and haloumi salad.

For main, we couldn’t go past the Crispy Pork Belly – $26.50 served with buttered potatoes, braised cabbage and Granny Smith apple glaze. The portion was generous, with golden crispy crackling, incredibly moist and tender meat that oozed with juice accented by the smooth and sweet apple glaze.

Our other pick was the irresistible flat ribbon egg pasta, Fettuccine Machiavelli – $23.50,  with sautéed prawns, field mushrooms, roast garlic, parsley, chili, grated Parmesan cheese and extra virgin olive oil. This dish was packed with flavour, the pasta was consistent and al dente, the prawns fresh and flavoursome, placed in a perfect marriage with the other ingredients which added to the taste and appeal of this dish.

Room for dessert? definitely, the Crepes Louise – $24.50, freshly made crepes filled with banana and strawberries, served with vanilla ice cream. A truly indulgent dessert.
