Review: Ibis Styles Hotel – The Entrance

It’s becoming difficult to find a budget hotel with a touch of luxury these days, but the new Ibis Styles at the Entrance, will certainly tick a lot of those boxes.

Located along the Central Coast Highway, a very short drive from the main strip of The Entrance, this  three Star hotel offers panoramic views over Tuggerah Lakes, and is only a matter of minutes from the many beaches nearby.

One standout feature of the hotel is the private connection to the Diggers Club by an adjoining corridor. Once checked in, it’s a an option to sign in to the club’s temporary members register for access to the club’s restaurants and bars. It is well worth doing so, especially if you are done for the day behind the wheel. Other amenities include the children’s dedicated play centre and for the adults, a well equipped gym.

We were welcomed by a very professional and friendly lady in reception, she made the check in process a breeze, the formalities taking a matter of minutes, including the option of the club sign-in, ID is required, and we were done.

We were assigned to:

ROOM 207
Twin share
Walked in price: $99 (Sunday night rate)

The hotel has a huge car park with a few undercover parking spaces that have easy access to the hotel’s lift. Luckily for us that we got a spot close to the lift’s lobby which is accessed by the door reader card, which you tap the sensor to gain entry. This card is also used to enter and exit the Diggers Club.

Our room was spotless, clean, modern and warm in decoration, the crisp bed sheets and pillow cases made us feel welcome and ready for a good night’s sleep. Our room sadly didn’t have the wonderful views of the Lakes, but those rooms are very popular, we were happy just to have a room. The bathroom had it all, high shower, big mirror, nice towels, quality toiletries and a hair dryer all in a practical and space giving layout

Other room furnishings included a state of the art tv, reverse cylce air, iron, hangers, coffee maker, safe, small fridge, nice carpet and a block-out curtain.

The reception area has its own coffee area, meeting and event rooms with both modern and contemporary decoration.

We dined for the night at the Diggers Club, being a little late, we were keen on the Feast Buffet. Buffet prices for NON MEMBERS Dinner Friday – Saturday $25.95, Sunday – Thursday $23.50. Members prices are relatively cheaper than non-members, as with most clubs, the buffet is also open for lunch, Monday – Sunday. We arrived just 20-minutes before they were due to close, however the staff assured us that we could have anything we wanted, and that there was no rush. Understanding they had a job to do, we got on with it and shared a number of serves of the many well prepared and tasty dishes on offer, something for just about everyone and age. The attentive staff making sure that we didn’t miss dessert.

So, if you’re heading that way during your next holiday, why not try The Ibis Style and pay a visit to the Diggers Club too.
